Soundgarden Will Do An Australian Tour Late 2012, Says Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell has revealed that Soundgarden will return to Australia later on this year, in an interview with Triple M today. As well as revealing details about the bands forthcoming new album.

“We will come back soon after our album comes out and do a proper headlining tour,” Chris said.

Of the new album, “It sounds like Soundgarden.. but i wouldn’t say it’s similar.. i think there are parts of it that are there to remind everybody of us, but we’ve always progressed from album to album.”

They’re currently out here on the Big Day Out 2012 tour, as well as playing some sideshows, but only in Sydney and Melbourne. This current visit their first visit in nearly 15 years. The shows also signal the first time Soundgarden has played outside the U.S since 1997.
