SoundSchool Offer Pre-Sale For ‘Percussion’ Coffee Table Book

Need a fancy new book to sit on your coffee table and want to raise some money for a damn good cause while you’re at it?

Then look no further than the special percussion book, which is being released to raise money for not-for-profit mational music organisation SoundSchool. The organisation regularly holds a series of Australian music events and initiatives aiming to raise money in order to purchase musical instruments, teaching aids and tuition.

The book is the brainchild of Heath Media founder Larry Heath, who joined several delegates in a visit to an orphanage associated with SoundSchool in Delhi, India in November last year. Spurred on by his experiences, Heath was the brainchild behind a 50-page book about instruments, which has now been created to raise funds for SoundSchool and their work with the orphanage in India.

A huge range of international and local artists are featured in the book – including AFI, Andrew W.K, Deftones, Cloud Control, Birds of Tokyo and Big Scary.

The book is available as part of a special pre-sale next Saturday, February 23 (SLAM Day). It will be released locally and internationally in April through Blurb. $5 from each copy of percussion will be donated to SoundSchool. Those involved with the project are hoping to sell 2,000 copies of the book, and raise a total of around $10,000 for the organisation.
