Update 16/08: Soundwave 2013 second announcement will come tomorrow at 4pm
The Soundwave 2013 hype juggernaut just continues to roll on – with the festival’s second announcement to arrive as early as Friday.
Festival boss AJ Maddah revealed on his Twitter account (suprise surprise) that he might drop the second announcement of acts sooner rather than later, in the wake of the Sydney pre-sale selling out earlier today.
85% of tickets in all cities have been put aside in the pre-sales, which means as few as 15% of tickets could be left for the general public when tickets go on sale next Thursday, August 23.
To put that in perspective, the capacity for each leg of the festival is around 40,000 punters. Maddah has stated that if the full pre-sale quota sells out, 8,250 tickets will be available for the general public in each city next week. That’s gonna be quite a dogfight.
