The organisers of Splendour In The Grass have announced the details of the Splendour Members Club. Punters who have attended Splendour In The Grass five times or more qualify for an exclusive Splendour Members pre-sale that guarantees up to four tickets to the next Splendour event.
According to a post on the official Splendour website, the five events attended do not have to be consecutive and all that is required for membership is confirmation of attendance. If the five events were attended post-2006, organisers’ electronic ticketing system makes signing up easy.
However, punters who attended their five Splendours before the system was introduced will most likely have to start digging through shoeboxes, with organisers accepting “ticket purchase receipts, credit card statement for tickets, ticket stubs, [and] wristbands” as valid proof of attendance.
If you’re not the nostalgic type or the type to keep your accountant happy, the understanding folks at Splendour In The Grass will also consider photos of you at a pre-2006 Splendour event as proof, but only if it features you in front of a “recognisable feature from that year’s festival.”
If your only proof is a piece of merch, a photo of you wearing your tattered Splendour t-shirt or holding your stubby cooler is acceptable, but should come with some more photos from the event, as well as an anecdote from your Splendour experience, to guarantee the application is bona fide.
“So get cracking, and we promise the effort will be well worth it when we announce the lineup and you’ll go straight to the front of the line with your tickets guaranteed,” write organisers. Applications close Friday, 14th March 2014, check the official Splendour website for more details.
