St Vincent Australian Tour 2014 Announced

Hot on the momentum of her universally acclaimed self-titled fourth album, Oklahoma native Annie Clarke, known to fans as the chameleonic art rock impressionist St Vincent, has announced two very special Australian tour dates for this May, including an appearance at Vivid Live 2014.

St Vincent has been amassing praise as Clarke’s most assured, complex, and confident release yet. Music Feeds reviewer Tara Clifford praised Clarke’s ability to create a “structured disorder,” with meshes of distorted guitars, lush synth layers, and Clarke’s left-of-field vocal arrangements.

Working with John Congleton (Modest Mouse), Clarke’s idiosyncratic take on production and arrangement finds choral harmonies interacting with hip-hop rhythms and ambient noise melding with sharp synth leads, all informed by teen years spent on tour and work with David Byrne.

The new album has also inspired a new St Vincent live show, bound to be her most daring and delightful yet. After a performance at Melbourne’s Howler on Thursday, 22nd May, Clarke will join an immense lineup to take part in Vivid Live 2014 at the Sydney Opera House. Check below for details.
