Steel Panther Shooting For Early 2015 Tour

Michael Starr, real name Ralph Saenz, frontman of comedic glam metal outfit Steel Panther has revealed that the band, who last toured Australia as part of a double bill with Anaheim hard rock group Buckcherry, are looking to return in early 2015 and has stated a desire to play Soundwave.

Steel Panther have played the metal and hard rock festival once previously, appearing on a 2012 bill headlined by System of a Down and Slipknot. Speaking recently to Troy Culpan of May The Rock Be With You, Starr cited the band’s first Soundwave experience as his fondest memory of Australia.

“That was a really memorable experience with us as we got to tour Australia with a bunch of other bands that were like minded like us, they’re into metal and everyone is excited to be there. It was like a big heavy metal camping trip, and I hung out with dudes that I wouldn’t normally hang out with.”

The band unveiled their new album, All You Can Eat, last month, and Starr was asked when the band would return Down Under. “We’re shooting for 2015, early, probably in the January, February, maybe even Soundwave, you never know… that would be great to play Soundwave,” said Starr.

Starr once again mentioned promoter AJ Maddah‘s flagship event when signing off, telling the interviewer, “Hopefully we’ll see you at Soundwave.” Readers can check out a list of other potential candidates for Soundwave 2015 over at our Soundwave 2015 Lineup Rumours And Info page.
