UPDATE: Tame Impala & Stella Donnelly Among 2018 West Australian Music Award Winners

ORIGINAL STORY: The 2017-18 Western Australian Music Song of the Year nominees have been announced, and there’s a plethora of diverse artists up for awards.

Leading the nominations is John Bennett, with his song ‘Country Is Calling’ nominated for the Best Country, Best Regional and Outstanding Indigenous awards.

Rappers Coin Banks and Ziggy Ramo follow close behind him with two nominations each.

Huge up-and-comer Stella Donnelly, who is just off the back of her killer performances at SXSW and is currently in the middle of a co-headlining tour with Alex The Astronaut, also scored a nomination for Best Pop with her track ‘Boys Will Be Boys’.

There’s a record-breaking $45,000 worth of prizes up for grabs at this year’s ceremony, which will take place at Fly by Night Musicians Club on Wednesday, 16th May at the Victoria Hall in Fremantle.
