Stone Sour Reveal All On New Album

After what has seemed like months and months of drip feeding, Stone Sour fans can now relax a little, or explode with excitement, depending on how they take this news. Stone Sour have announced that their fourth studio album House of Gold & Bones Part 1 will be out October 22.

However, this isn’t the usual album release date announcement. Frontman Corey Taylor being the entertainer that he is has an array of extra treats that will come hand in hand with the release. The most impressive of these is the follow-up, Part 2, which is expected to drop very early next year.

According to NME, Taylor has explained that the release will be a concept album, with each song contributing to a greater story, half of which will be on Part 1, and the other on part 2. There will also be a comic book released alongside the album/s, which won’t be news to those who have been paying attention, though that is still in the concept stages as Taylor expains:

“Each disc will include one half of the story – for lyrics, you’ll have to visit our site. Once I lock in the company who will help me put it together, there will be a comic book as well.”

Next on the agenda, we have the first single off the release. Absolute Zero was released super recently, and if you’re interested in gauging the vibe on the album, check out the promo video for the single below, right below the tracklisting.

Australia will be one of the first countries to sample the releases live, with the band locked in for a slot at Soundwave Festival 2013.
