Stone Temple Pilots Pay Tribute To Scott Weiland On First Anniversary Of His Death

Stone Temple Pilots have share a soul-ripping tribute to their fallen comrade and former frontman Scott Weiland for the first anniversary of his death.

Taking to Facebook, Stone Temple Pilots address Weiland directly, saying:

“Here we are. A year has passed since you’ve been gone. We often think of you and are reminded of you daily with many memories. Then there is the music the four of us carved out allowing us to listen and feel how brilliant you are.

“There was a time when we looked up to one another. Each of us wanting one another’s approval. The songs we wrote had to have complete impact on us in order for them to shine. When it did… it was unearthly. Perhaps you are in a place now to better describe it.

“We miss you Scott.”

This time last year, Weiland was discovered unresponsive on his tour bus while in Bloomington, Minnesota. It was later discovered that the cause of death was due to cardiac arrest incurred by a drug overdose. Throughout his acclaimed career, Weiland also fronted Velvet Revolver.

Since the passing, rumours have started to flow that Stone Temple Pilots might have found a new vocalist. That said, it’s safe to say that Weiland’s passing touched those way up in the highest echelons of music.

Soon after the initial news broke, Stone Temple Pilots posted an equally soul-ripping tribute to Scott in the form of the below video.
