With a few days left until we reach the Hobo Rocket release date of Friday, 2nd August, Pond are streaming the whole record online for your enjoyment.
Fans the world over collectively lost their shit when Pond announced they would be following up Beard, Wives, Denim this year, and its safe to say that with the release of Hobo Rocket Pond will no longer live in the shadow of Tame Impala.
Our own review of Hobo Rocket noted that, after the band trimmed some of the fat seen in previous releases, listeners are treated to “cohesive song structures, clever arrangements, and the impression that Pond aren’t going to be Jan Brady to Tame Impala’s Marcia for much longer”.
Main man Nick Allbrook spoke of the record’s merits to Music Feeds when he joined us for a recent podcast. In the interview, Allbrook discussed the band’s conscious effort to make the album sound epic, assuring us that there will be a tour from the band in the near future, towards the end of 2013.
