Surry Hills Festival 2012 Lineup Announced

Written by Marc Zanotti on September 20, 2012

Saturday, October 27th will see the return of the Surry Hills Festival, a multi-staged celebration of music, art and community that brings together a very fine collection of musical acts to take over the popular Sydney suburb. This year’s lineup includes party starter Alison Wonderland, SA indie rockers Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! and Sydney’s own Purple Sneakers DJs along with the likes of The Tongue, Softwar and Tijuana Cartel.

The Surry Hills Festival takes place at Prince Alfred Park and runs from 10am – 10pm. As Festival Director Matt Grant explains, the festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy great tunes, browse some market stalls, chow down on some grub and experience a great sense of community without being overwhelmed by the massive crowds of a larger festival.

“Surry Hills Festival just brings so much together in one day, different genres of music, markets, gourmet food, great little bars, amazing art, roving performances and so much that you just don’t see anywhere else, and the fact that it is the major fundraiser for Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre just makes it even better,” said Grant.
