Surry Hills Festival 2015 Date Announced, Artist Applications Open

Sydney’s popular Surry Hills Festival will return to the inner-city suburb on 26th September this year, and has already opened its metaphorical doors for artist applications.

Surry Hills Festival took a year off in 2013, but returned in September 2014, with musical acts such as Donny Benet, The Laurels and Spookyland taking to the stage.

This year the free event is back to help celebrate the histories, cultures and diverse creative energies which make up Surry Hills, with the recurring theme, “An Event of Stories, Love & Tales.”

The festival promises more live music, pop-up spaces, performances, local narratives, food and art, with funds raised on the day going to the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre, who manage many important community programs.

Applications are open for vendors, bands, DJs, artistic performers and local businesses who want to get involved in the event. What’s more, creative workshops are being held at the Surry Hills Markets on the first Saturday of each month leading up to the festival.
