UPDATE 15/08/16: Surry Hills Festival has announced its music lineup for 2016.
Original Story: Surry Hills Festival has announced Saturday, September 24th as the date for what will be the beloved festival’s return, marking their 14th year of displaying the area’s vibrant culture. Applications for involvement in the free, family friendly festival are now open.
To usher in the event, organisers are inviting one and all to partake in a series of workshops, markets and installations taking place on the first Saturday of each month leading up to the festival. Be sure to arm yourself with an appetite for creative – and also food – and head down to the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre near Shannon Reserve on 7th May, 4th June, 2nd July, 6th August or 3rd September to help prepare.
Applications are now open for all vendors, artists, DJs, bands and everything in between for involvement in the festival. Every nook and cranny from Ward Park to Shannon Reserve, Crown Street to Hill Street will be occupied with live music or pop up-stalls for the 50,000 expected punters so be sure to get your applications in before June 3.
The 2015 edition of Surry Hills festival was soundtracked by the likes of The Stiffys, I Know Leopard, Noire and more.
