Tame Impala, Seth Sentry, Last Dinosaurs Added To Homebake 2012 Lineup

Homebake has just recently revealed the second round of acts set to appear at the all Aussie/NZ event, well, 99% all Aussie/NZ. Organisers have added an extra 10 acts to the already bursting-at-the-seams lineup.

The band of the moment, Tame Impala, will now be performing at the fest, having kicked up a huge wave of support with their recent release Lonerism. Joining Tame will be Brissy boys Last Dinosaurs, who have also been enjoying a killer year. Partners in crime Hermitude and the always delightful Seth Sentry will also now appear on the bill as well as rising stars Sticky Fingers, Hey Geronimo and Underlights.

Throw into the mix Parachute Youth, The Griswalds and Lime Cordial and you’ve got a hootenanny we can all groove to.

The new additions come in the wake of the first announcement, which somewhat shocked us all as it featured a band from the US, but it’s Blondie, so we’re all willing to make an exception for this and make them honorary Aussies for the festival. Hilltop Hoods will also be making a big appearance with a mix of Aussie and Kiwi talent, including Something for Kate, and both Angus and Julia Stone performing separately, as well as Shapeshifter and Six60.

Music Feeds senior journalist Marc Zanotti just got off the phone with Sean Caskey of Last Dinosaurs, who gushed at the opportunity to play the beloved Sydney festival for the very first time

“We’ve got Homebake, which will be sick coz I’ve always wanted to play that coz I know it’s really good,” asserted Caskey, adding, “It’s awesome, so we’re pretty pumped to play that”

Tickets to the gig are fast-tracked to sell out, so get in quickly. Maps and times will be available soon, but in the meantime, we can tell you it’s all going down Saturday, December 8th, 2012 at The Domain in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden
