Taylor Swift’s World Tour Will Hit Australia In December 2015

UPDATE 02/12/14: Taylor Swift has confirmed Australian tour dates for her world tour, supported by Vance Joy — details here.

Taylor Swift has confirmed that her newly-announced 1989 World Tour will come to Australia in December 2015. What’s more, local lad Vance Joy has been unveiled as support on the North American leg of the tour.

A recent post of Taylor Swift’s official website reads, “Taylor announced The 1989 World Tour! Kicking off in Louisiana on May 20, 2015, the tour will hit North America and Europe before heading to Australia in December 2015.” That’s over a year of waiting for Aussie fans, but somehow, we think they’ll be fine with that. Any news is good news, right?

Vance Joy’s 2014 continues to go from strength to strength, with news that the Melburnian will be supporting Taylor Swift across North America next year, playing to huge audiences. It’s long been known that Swift enjoys Vance Joy’s music, she even covered Riptide live on radio. Swift’s extensive stadium and arena US tour will last from May to October 2015, before heading down under.

Taylor Swift last toured Australia behind the release of her album Red in December 2013. The support act(s) for her 2015 Australian tour are yet to be announced, as are tour dates and venue details. Swift’s website has noted that Canadian musician Shawn Mendes will also be part of the world tour, but it’s not yet clear which dates he’ll appear at. Swift’s latest album, 1989, was released in October.
