Television Announce First-Ever Headlining Australian Shows, October 2013

In conjunction with their appearance at ATP‘s upcoming Release The Bats event, Television will be heading out on their first-ever run of headlining Australian performances, hitting up WA, Sydney and even a cheeky performance at The Void hosted by Tasmania’s MONA.

Bursting into the scene in 1973, Television experienced a crazy few years until they decided to split in 1978. Within that period, they became cult classics through iconic performances as well as 2 seminal releases Marquee Moon and Adventure. The band cited several reasons for the split including difficulty with touring, creative differences and internal conflicts.

It wasn’t until 1992 that the world would once again experience Television. The band returned for a short stay, which included the release of a self-titled record, and a run of select performances. But as suddenly as they re-appeared, they vanished once more.

The gears once again started turning in 2001 for a special appearance on UK’s All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival. Now, in 2013, Television are once again at it, and have included Australia in their plans for the Good Evening And Welcome To Television Tour.
