Tenacious D Confirm New Album Is “Probably” Coming This Year & Share Snippet Of New Music

Tenacious D are returning with their first album since 2012 and they’re also heading out on a tour.

The Jack Black and Kyle Gass-featuring duo will “probably” release the follow-up to Rize of the Fenix this year.

They’re “definitely” heading out on a tour that will include a set at Foo Fighters’ festival CalJam.

The news was delivered via a trailer for that tour which also contained a tiny snippet of new music alongside a very lo-fi cartoon skit.

The album is tentatively titled Post Apocalypto, fitting with the snippet of new music which contains the lyrics, “Apocalypto this is our time to shine.”

Black has already mentioned that there’s a sequel to their 2006 The Pick Of Destiny coming so a new album would make sense.

Check out the trailer for the tour below.
