The Tenacious D fellas have come up with their very own Game of Thrones song, written especially for the beloved Jon Snow’s triumphant win in the pre-season 6 GOT mock election.
ICYMI: the folks behind the earth-conquering HBO series held the fake poll to hype the release of Season 6 on digital platforms, and over 1 million people voted Ned Stark’s bastard (R+L=J tho) and Lyanna Mormont as joint leaders of the “GOT Party”.
And The D’s Jon Snow victory ditty, dubbed Ode to Snow (A Campaign Trail Song), features all sounds medieval, including pan-pipe flute flutters and a plucked guitar that sounds like a lute. This is (obvies) joined by some sweeping electric guitar riffs and marching heavy drums because Tenacious D.
Frontman Jack Black, however, is nowhere to be found, as the remaining D members released this tune under the metal AF band name “Valyrian Steel”, comprised of Kyle Gass, John Konesky, and John Spiker.
But don’t worry ,he is definitely still alive and well, no need for alarm bells like last time when he was pronounced dead by a Twitter hacker back in June. He just sat this one out.
