Tex Perkins Fronted Outfit The Ape Announce Shows In Support Of New Single ‘Crawl Back’

One of Australia’s most animalistic supergroups The Ape have released their debut single Crawl Back, and rather than just beating their chests about it, The Ape will be heading out for a brief run of Aussie tour dates throughout August.

Fronted by the fearless Tex Perkins of The Cruel Sea fame, or perhaps if you will Beasts of Bourbon with Magic Dirt/River Of Snake’s Raul Sanchez on the axe, The Dark Horses’ Gus Agars on the skins and The Ladyboys’ Pat Bourke manning the keys as well as some vocal duties, The Ape is a totally unique animal with a mating call that’s chunky and driven by electric guitar.

Crawl Back is the first time this beast has reared its head, showing off its fangs in an uber-cool, damn funky manner. The Ape have been kind to their human counterparts with this particular track, and are offering it for a totally free download.

Come August, the band will be belting out three shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin. The remainder of 2013 will see a debut full-length released from the outfit sometime in October.

Dates and ticketing information beneath the stream.
