The Black Keys’ Drummer Changes Twitter Name To ‘Justin Beiber’, Pisses Off Fans

The Black Keys‘ drummer Patrick Carney has fired the latest shot in his developing war of words with Justin Bieber – and probably caused a few headaches for his legion of fans as well.

Carney has switched his Twitter username to Justin Beiber, and also changed his profile picture to a headshot of the Canadian teenage pop star.

And it doesn’t stop there. As NME reports, earlier today, Carney used his new alias to post a link to the “new world premier” of a Justin Bieber song. Except, the link does anything but take you there… it ends up at a YouTube video of a demo of DEVO’s Recomba DNA.

The actions come after Beiber suggested that Carney “should be slapped around” after he criticised his music at the Grammys last week.

Predictably, Beiber’s army of fans – aka ‘Beliebers’ – have come out swinging at Carney for his actions and for taking his idol’s namesake and pretending to be him. And damn, they’re acting feisty too, with one fan tweeting to Carney “Someone should shove a pencil so far up your ass that you can’t walk for months.” Meow!

No word from Beiber himself on what he thinks about Carney’s actions – or the comments issued by the fans trying to defend him. His reaction though, is sure to be one to watch out for.
