The Black Keys New Album “Definitely Gonna Happen In 2013”

Reports that fans should expect a new album from breakthrough outfit The Black Keys in the coming year have since been confirmed by the pair, who spoke to CBS Local very recently and locked in that the project will be happening in 2013.

The newly engaged drummer Patrick Carney told the publication that “It [an album] is definitely gonna happen in 2013. It’s just a matter of how long it takes us to make the album and deciding when we want to get back on the road.” According to NME.

Speaking on behalf of the two-piece, Carney put a finer point on when fans should start to get excited for the release: “We’re going to start making a new album in January and we’re going to tour a little more in the spring. Our plan is to have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things like go to bed early and wake up early, walk the dog, that kind of stuff. Then we’ll probably be back on the road starting next fall.”

The album will be following the band’s chart-topping, smash-hitting album El Camino. And who knows, maybe Aussie fans could be the first to hear some new material when the band stops by this October.
