Brisbane four-piece The Cairos have spent the last 12-months solidifying their reputation as one of the country’s hardest-working up-and-coming young bands – embarking on national tours, playing festivals, bunkering down in recording studios, and they’re now about to celebrate a new album.
Fans have long been waiting for a full-length from these Triple J Unearthed winners, who’ll be unveiling Dream Of Reason on Friday, 9th May before they embark on a touring schedule that’s extensive to say the least – kicking off this June in WA and concluding a month later in Queensland.
Recorded at Studio 301 in the buzzing musical hive of Byron Bay, Dream Of Reason was produced and mixed by Nick DiDia, who brought in the studio chops he refined working with such Australian rock greats as Powderfinger and Karnivool, and internationals like Rage Against The Machine.
“We had a lot more time to write the album. And really got to nut things out the way we wanted,” vocalist and guitarist Alistar Richardson said of the difference between their Colours Like Features EP and the forthcoming release, also crediting DiDia for his important contributions to the album.
