The Church Reveal New Album Details, National Tour Dates

Fresh off the BIGSOUND stage, legendary Australian alt rock outfit The Church have announced the impending arrival of their their 25th studio album, Further/Deeper, due out in Australia on Friday, October 17th, and to celebrate the band are hitting the road.

Fans keen on pre-ordering Further/Deeper can do so at the band’s official website where they’ll also be treated to an instant download of the track Pride Before A Fall and will get an additional bonus track, The Girl Is Buoyant, on the day of the album’s release.

Frontman Steve Kilbey has also been creating a series of paintings as memes for the album’s lyrical themes, some of which will also be available to purchase from the band’s online merchandise store.

The Church will be performing Further/Deeper in its entirety at a handful of intimate shows this October and November, in addition to their slots on the bills for the Mullum Music and Queenscliff Music festivals.

They’ll also appear at a special show at Melbourne’s ACMI on Friday, 21st November where they will perform the score of Jean Cocteau‘s avant-garde film The Blood Of A Poet, in an event that was specially commissioned and devised by the band themselves.
