The Cult To Play Classic Album In Full On ‘Electric 13’ Australian Tour

Written by Mike Hohnen on June 24, 2013

The Cult have announced the extensive itinerary for the recently announced Electric 13 World Tour and fans will be thrilled that they’ve confirmed there will be a stop off in Australia. Throughout September and October, the band will be in town, performing their groundbreaking 1987 release Electric in its entirety.

Electric came from humble beginnings. Tracked at the renowned Electric Ladyland studios with the help of then-burgeoning producer Rick Rubin, it would go on to become The Cult’s first ever Platinum release. The band supported the release with an extensive world tour which included dates with Guns N Roses and opening slots for David Bowie and Iggy Pop. They even managed to squeeze in a cheeky tour of Australia that same year.

This will be the first time in their highly respected career that The Cult will be performing an album from start to finish, so you’ll want to experience this for yourself. And if Electric wasn’t really your jam, don’t fret – the band will be performing a second set filled with all their other classics at each show.

Pre-sale is available to Frontier Touring members via http://www.frontiertouring.com/thecult from 12 noon AEST on Thursday 27th June to 12 noon AEST Friday, 28th June. General release tickets are on sale from 9am local time, Thursday, 4th July
