Truly masters of all trades, The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced today that they will be joining the Sumerian record family, also signing over the band’s own record label Party Smasher Inc to facilitate the release of their 2013 album.
Both Sumerian and Dillinger announced the news through a video that they both uploaded. Simply pieced together with odds and ends footage from gigs throughout the band’s history, the clip is also synced to the hook of Dead As History off the band’s previous album Ire Works: ‘Time is always right behind us/Like the lamb under the gun/I’ll hold on to this forever/That is never long enough’. Even their video announcements are awesome.
Dillinger find themselves in good company amongst the rest of the Sumerian roster, with bands such as Asking Alexandria, Dead Letter Circus and Born of Osiris.
The band announced plans to enter the studio earlier this month. So far, we know that they have collaborated with our very own Kimbra, but it’s not yet known whether that be for their future release, or hers.
