The Joy Formidable play Melbourne Workers Club

Having spent 2009 cementing their reputation as one of the most exciting and vital new bands in the UK, The Joy Formidable return with a new single and a debut album for 2010. Popinjay is an early taster for the band’s debut album and melds Ritzy Bryan’s vocals, by turns honeyed and strident, to a gargantuan guitar hook and a wall of noise and melody that is rapidly becoming the band’s signature sound.

To coincide with the single, The Joy Formidable play their most extensive set of Australian dates, both headlining and supporting The Temper Trap and Passion Pit as well as appearing at the Splendour in the Grass festival.
