The Killers Cancel Sydney and Perth Shows, Friendly Fires Cancel Australian Tour

In news just in, The Killers have announced that they’ll be cancelling three dates on their imminent Australian tour.

In a statement, Good Vibrations management announced that “due to the severity of the illness of a close family member, (The Killers) regretfully announce the cancellation of their Sydney Enmore show as well as their shows at Good Vibrations Festival Sydney and Good Vibrations Festival Perth this weekend. The band apologises to their Australian fans and asks for their understanding. The Killers still intend to perform at the Good Vibrations Festival’s Gold Coast and Melbourne shows next weekend.”

The tour was due to kick off tomorrow night with a show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Having announced their intentions to take some time off after the completion of this tour, it’s a major blow for fans hoping to see them before they disappear for a while.

The news comes just five hours after the Friendly Fires cancelled their Good Vibrations appearances, posting this announcement on their Facebook page:

“Hey everyone, Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Australia because of a family emergency within the band. Heartfelt apologies to anyone who was looking forward to our shows, we hope we’ll have the chance to come and play for you all very soon. F.F xx”
