The Lemonheads Meredith 2014 Sideshows Announced

The first wave of Meredith Music Festival sideshows has begun to roll in, with US indie rock legends The Lemonheads announcing a string of East Coast solo shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this December.

Having formed The Lemonheads in 1986, the veteran band’s only constant member, Evan Dando, has spent a considerable amount of time in this country over the last 25 years and many of their early albums, including 1992’s It’s A Shame About Ray, were inspired by Dando’s life in Australia.

The Lemonheads have been in something of a state of flux in the last few years and haven’t released any new material since 2006’s self-titled effort. However, Dando has holed back up in the studio recently with the likes of founding member and early co-songwriter Ben Deily and ex-bassist Juliana Hatfield.

Playing alongside accomplished local acts Jen Cloher and Spookyland, this December The Lemonheads will bring us new music mixed in with the classics, promising to be a special affair for long-term fans and newcomers alike. See the sideshow details below.

UPDATE 08/09/14: Following the announcement of their December Australian tour, The Lemonheads have sold out their Melbourne Corner Hotel show and due to overwhelming demand, a second performance will take place on Wednesday, 10th December. See the updated tour schedule below.
