The Meanies Announce ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ National Album Tour

It has been over two decades since Melbourne pub rockers The Meanies dropped their latest album, but with a brand-spanking new full-length effort called It’s Not Me, It’s You ready to arrive in September, the band are taking their new tunes on the road this October.

The Meanies’ It’s Not Me, It’s You album tour will make its way through Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and will see the band perform tracks from their back catalogue and their new album, which features 10 new songs.

Speaking about It’s Not Me, It’s You, Wally Meanie (real name Roderick Kempton) says the band were inspired by some of their musical mates, and decided to head back into the studio.

“The renaissance that our pals in the Cosmic Psychos were having inspired us to get off our arses and put something new out,” Kempton says.

“What the hell, it couldn’t hurt right? Besides, we were getting pretty sick of playing the same set for the last 21 years!”

The Meanies are no strangers to the touring circuit, having supported the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Beastie Boys, The Lemonheads, Bad Brains and Fugazi, and having played a handful of shows each year since they reformed in 1998.

It’s Not Me, It’s You will be released on 25th September. The first taste of the album, There’s A Gap, is available to stream in full below, alongside the band’s upcoming tour dates.
