The Murlocs have rolled back the covers of our forgotten memories, with a cover of Hot Chocolate‘s Every1’s a Winner for triple j‘s Like a Version.
The ubiquitous song that exists on the tip of the tongue – everybody’s a winner baby, that’s for sure – was covered with the laid-back, fuzz-heavy style of the youthful psychedelic Geelongians, who share a producer with King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.
Earlier in the day, they used their opportunity at the national youth broadcaster’s HQ to also thrash out a rendition of their original song, Composition.
The live appearance on triple j caps a pretty good start to the year for the lads, who just wrapped up a pretty successful multi-date tour of the country.
