Nothing says American muscle cars and coming of age quite like a good old tailgate party does, something the legends at Perth’s Mustang Bar know only too well. So with their 16th birthday fast approaching there was only one thing to do: throw one hell of birthday version of their infamous Tailgate Sundays parties, with Ezra Lee, Johnny Law & The Pistol Packing Daddies and more on the bill.
If you are unfamiliar with the term, a tailgate party is and american phenomenon where everyone gets wasted out of the back of their pick up trucks while tending to that most sacred ritual of contemporary civilisation – the BBQ.
And while Mustang Bar won’t be throwing open their doors for everyone to drive their cars in, they are throwing a members party with plenty of giveaways, food platters and free entry. Expect a lot of beer, a lot of burgers, and a heaping side serve of good old rock and roll.
Speaking of rock and roll, they’ve put together a choice line-up of local acts to help soundtrack the celebration, with Ezra Lee headlining, the show also serving as the official launch of their new album Motor Head Baby. In support are Johnny Law & The Pistol Packin’ Daddies, plus DJ Holly on the decks.
That’s only the tip of this rock and roll iceberg however, as Frenzy will be taking to stage at 11pm, with Dj James MacArthur keeping the party pumping til the wee hours of the morning.
