The Red Paintings Announce ‘Chinese Whispers’ Australian Tour For September

Written by Mike Solo on August 13, 2012

Orchestral art rock band The Red Paintings have announced a run of intimate club dates across Australia, before heading over to tour the UK and Europe for the first time.

The band will feature songs from their forthcoming album The Revolution Is Never Coming, which is due for release in early 2013.

The Red Paintings have an incredibly unique live show, including painters who join the band on stage to create artwork on ‘human canvases’ (that is to say, semi-naked bodies) inspired by the music around them. They are also known for their theatrics, costumes and visual projections.

This time they will be bringing a new stage show with them, based on the theme of human impact upon the natural environment.

TRP rose to international prominence when they were hand-picked by Amanda Palmer to support the Dresden Dolls on their world tour of 2007, playing sold-out theatres across the US, UK, Europe and Australia. The band have also played major festivals, including Big Day Out and Great Escape, and have toured across the US and Australia, including supports with Mogwai, Alien Ant Farm, Saul Williams, Atari Teenage Riot and Mindless Self Indulgence.
