Hip hop legends and Jimmy Fallon house band, The Roots have been added to the already stocked lineup for Southbound 2014, joining Vampire Weekend, MGMT and Grizzly Bear.
A change in scheduling regarding The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon, for which the funk-soul octet work as the nightly house band, means the group will be heading to Western Australia to play for fans at Southbound, in addition to their appearance at Falls Festival.
Earlier in the year, the band’s iconic drummer Questlove tweeted that the band would be Down Under in time for the summer festival season, telling a fan that The Roots “will be in Aussie day after Xmas for a week in 2013.”
A man of his word, the band will be bringing their dynamic and inimitable live show to Aussie shores for the first time since 2007, when they played the Blues and Roots Festival. These performances are not to be missed!
