The Used Confirm Departure Of Guitarist Justin Shekoski After Alleged Violence And Threats

The Used have confirmed that guitarist Justin Shekoski is no longer a part of the band.

Citing “personal and artistic differences”, the band wrote, “Justin is no longer the guitar player for The Used.”

Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Shekoski had threatened to take his own life at one of their gigs and had also sent threatening texts to individual band members.

The Used criticised the “sensationalism and immoral reporting of media publications” and wrote, “we as a band had to take the proper legal precautions.”

“The safety of our fans, crew and fellow band members is our biggest priority. Even and especially in the toughest times, the threat of suicide should never be taken lightly.”

Shekoski joined the US band back in 2015 after playing with the band Saosin. At the time he said he’d been removed from that band for “questionable reasons”.

The Used will continue to tour the US this month.
