The xx Release Shadowy Video Clip For ‘Fiction’

Still riding high atop a wave of success kicked up from the release of their sophomore album Coexist, The xx have released their latest video offering focusing around the track Fiction. Those who are familiar with the ditty will not be surprised to learn that the video is also a melancholy, sombre affair.

Directed by Young Replicant, the clip follows singer/bassist Oliver Sim as he strolls aimlessly through a moonlit landscape, wondering off from his bandmates who decided to stay back at the fancy hotel. Given their inclusion in The Great Gatsby soundtrack, the themes of the film have clearly rubbed off on the band who seem to be exploring the concept of having it all but not feeling complete. Yeah, real deep shit.

The single will get the full release treatment in July when it will be available as a 7″ along with their contribution to The Great Gatsby soundtrack Together.
