Thin Lizzy Enter The Studio

Despite reports last year that the band’s future in terms of releases was uncertain, Thin Lizzy fans will be delighted to know that the band has today entered the studio to begin work on their new album.

The past few years were fairly turbulent for the band, who faced dramatic lineup changes. The energy of this spread throughout the whole camp, according to guitarist Scott Gorham, who remained positive yet realistic of the idea of new Thin Lizzy material; it really was a matter of timing.

“That’s the No. 1 question we’re getting from people – are we gonna record some new material?”, Gorham told Billboard back in 2011. “The fans seem to trust this lineup, and I don’t blame them. We’ve kind of jumped this emotional hurdle together. Ricky’s [Warwick, vocals] writing some fucking killer lyrics, and with the kind of talent that’s in Thin Lizzy now, I think we can pull off a really cool set of tunes. At least it’s something that we can think about now, where before it wasn’t on the table.”

We now have word though, from Gorham’s bandmate Damon Johnson, who took to Twitter to declare the news, that the band is ready to rock out, and record the process. According to Classic Rock Magazine, frontman Ricky Warwick stated that: “We’re all working really great together as a band. Let’s get in there and see what ideas we have and take it from there”.

Still early days on the release, though once they have announced dates, artwork and singles, we will be all over it!
