Thom Yorke To Appear On New Flying Lotus Album

Flying Lotus (aka Steve Ellison) has been once again collaborating with Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.

The Los Angeles-based artist told Rolling Stone that Yorke will appear on his forthcoming, as-yet-untitled album, which is scheduled for release on October 2.

The two artists previously worked together on Flying Lotus’ 2010 album Cosmogramma – where Yorke did vocals for the track …And The World Laughs With You.

Speaking to Rolling Stone before his set at the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago on the weekend, Lotus said he was a huge fan of Yorke’s sense of humour, describing him as a “jokey one”.

“I definitely respect what he’s up to,” he said. “But the biggest surprise to me in getting to know him is that he’s a funny guy. He’s the jokey one.”

Lotus said he had taken a more mature approach when creating the new material. “I feel like I had this maximalist mentality going into the last one, but with this one now I feel like I don’t have a problem holding back on some moments so bigger moments can shine through,” he said.
