Thom Yorke’s Longtime Partner Rachel Owen Dies, Aged 48

Dr. Rachel Owen, the former partner of Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, has passed away from cancer. She was 48 years old.

According to an obituary posted by the University of Oxford’s Pembroke College, where she taught Italian, Owen continued to teach up until recently, despite her ailing health. She died on Sunday, 18th December.

Owen was Yorke’s partner for over two decades, and is the mother of his two children, Noah (15) and Agnes (12).

Despite Yorke’s fame, Owen always led a very private life, and was rarely seen in public with the Radiohead singer. The couple split in August 2015, and their relationship is heavily referenced in Radiohead’s music, especially in their latest album, A Moon Shaped Pool.

Yorke and Radiohead are yet to publicly comment about Owens’ death.

News of Owens’ passing arrives on the same day that Australian Radiohead fans were trolled by a cruel Aussie tour prank.
