Thy Art Is Murder Have Been Banned From Playing Shows In The US, By Disney

It appears multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, Disney, has blocked Sydney deathcore outfit Thy Art Is Murder from performing at its venues.

The metal outfit were scheduled to play a handful of North American dates with fellow Aussie riffsters Parkway Drive at the House of Blues venue chain, which is owned by The Mouse, but have since officially been turfed off the bill.

“We are very sorry to announce that due to the narrow minded, corporate censoring goons over at Disney, we will be unable to join Parkway Drive on their upcoming dates at Anaheim on October 30th and Orlando Lake Buena Vista on November 23rd,” the band posted in a statement, via Facebook.

“We are aware we haven’t played Florida for quite some time now and we are itching to get back down there and play for you guys.”

As far as the reason why the fellas have been shown the door, one fan asked them that exact question on the Facey post, to which they replied “We don’t know either.”

We’d hazard a guess it might have something to do with their incendiary (awesome!) new video for their anti-religious themed album’s title track Holy War (below).

It’s not the first time the group has been blacklisted from playing a gig on Disney turf, though. The same thing happened just over two years ago, prompting Thy Art to release a limited edition range of ‘Banned In Disney’ T-shirts, which have just been re-issued for a limited time in celebration of their most recent Mouse-ousting.

In the meantime, you can catch Thy Art Is Murder touring Australia with Parkway Drive later this month.
