Thy Art Is Murder Announce New Album ‘Dear Desolation’ With Returned Frontman C.J. McMahon

After prodigal son vocalist C.J. McMahon made his triumphant return to Thy Art Is Murder at UNIFY Gathering earlier this year, the band are  sealing the deal with a brand new full-length album.

Dubbed Dear Desolation, the Sydney deathcore crew’s fourth studio LP is slated to arrive “later this year” via Nuclear Blast Records.

Speaking about the disc’s title, guitarist Andy Marsh explains (via Blabbermouth): “Dear Desolation was the easiest way to sum up the new record, and some of the issues we talked about. With lyrics ranging from extinction level events, to mortality’s interaction with morality, Dear Desolation seemed like an appropriate address toward nothingness, a call into the abyss from which we might not hear an answer.”

And to toast the big announcement, the band have also dropped a bunch of European tour dates with Aussie blackened hardcore juggernauts Justice For The Damned, plus After The Burial and Oceano.

No Aussie tour dates yet but the band are spruiking a “world tour” so stay tuned for (hopefully) imminent local tour news.

“We can’t wait to bring our new record to the road, and this will mark the very first leg of the Dear Desolation world tour,” the band said in a statement regarding the Euro dates.

This monster news comes after Thy Art released the crushing ‘No Absolution’, their first tune with CJ since he returned to the fold following his controversial exit from the band back in 2015.
