Tinpan Orange Announce New Album, National Tour

Beloved Ozzie folk band Tinpan Orange have announced the release and ensuing tour of their brand new album Love is a Dog, due for release April 8th.

The band have announced twelve dates nation wide that will span the months of April, May and June, kicking off at Fairbridge Folk Festival in WA on April 15th.

The Melbourne born trio took time out last year to write and record their fifth studio album, and from it came the recent release of their latest single Rich Man. This track was accompanied with a powerfully simple video; mysterious hands adorning a bored housewife in make up, jewels, lace and a designer dog, until she rebels and strips it all away. The song showcases Emily Lubitz’s delicate voice, that soars into her falsetto, which is a compelling new singing-style for the seasoned vocalist.

If this song is anything to base the rest of the album on, then we can expect great things from Love is a Dog. Described in a press release as “a luscious and intricate concept album”, it has been over a year in the making with the band themselves playing an integral role in the production of the album.

Tinpan Orange are known for their unique live performances, driven by Lubitz’s creative costumes and theatrical dancing. This extroversion is underpinned however by a deep authenticity in the music, offering a raw and honest message through their songs.
