Tom DeLonge is keeping himself extremely busy despite no longer being with Blink-182 announcing that on top of dropping four albums this year he will also release 15 novels over the course of the next four years.
As Rolling Stones reports, DeLonge took to Instagram over the weekend to write in a post which as since been taken down, “One of the reasons all this Blink stuff went haywire was because I am in 6 contracts with Best Selling Authors that are co-writing 15 Novels with me personally. Each one has an EP soundtrack that launches with it.”
He goes on to write that Blink-182 sent him a contract before his departure containing “weird new language” that explained he had to drop all other musical projects for a year. “I said I couldn’t, but I could record the album in and around those things that were already in the works,” he explained.
“He wrote them an email saying I’m out- (I didn’t know- and he was only talking about the deal) next thing you know, a press release saying things I didn’t say. Here we are….. Well…. Read a fucking book- at least one of mine, please.”
DeLonge then took to Twitter to clarify his comments writing, “Haha – those 15 novels come out over the next 4 years! Not this year… This year I am releasing 3 of them, 2 of which I co-wrote.”
He also broke down how those four albums he promised will be released this year. “To clarify: 2 albums with Angels, 2 albums from myself. 3 of them are released with Novels. This has been in the works for a couple years,” he tweeted.
We already have been given a look into his first novel for this year. At the beginning of the year DeLonge published an excerpt from a sci-fi novel that he plans to release with author Suzanne Young mid-year. The novel is an extension of Angels & Airwaves latest album The Dream Walker.
While there’s plenty of things in the pipeline for DeLonge this year, his first step is releasing his new LP To The Stars. The second release from it, The Invisible Parade, has dropped this morning, and is available to stream below.
