After months of deciding, cutting potential presenters, and generally having a difficult time, Channel [V] announced on The Riff this morning that the last two contenders for the newest presenter of Channel [V] would be Bridget Hustwaite and Marty Smiley. The finalists were chosen from their performances at the ASTRA Awards, which saw them interviewing the stars present, and even presenting an award during the ceremony.
Both finalists are completely different people. Bridget Hustwaite, 21, comes from Ballarat and has never presented on TV before auditioning to be a Channel [V] presenter, proving to be a natural. Melburnian Marty Smiley comes at the opposite end of the spectrum. He was picked up last year when he won a spot as a blog jockey on an episode of B340, and also works as a youth worker for Reach Foundation, visiting schools to encourage positive youth development.
The winner will be announced on The Riff next Saturday on June 30 at 10:30am (AEST).
