Tour Guide: British India, Citizen Kay, Skyways Are Highways

Today’s Tour Guide features shows from some of the country’s most loved acts including new tour dates from Melbourne rockers British India, a mini-album tour from rising hip hop star Citizen Kay and the news that Melbourne pop-punk outfit Skyways Are Highways will join Sea Legs on their upcoming East Coast tour.

British India Announce National Tour Dates

Along with the recent announcement that they will be supporting rock legends The Rolling Stones on a pair of their upcoming Australian tour dates, Melbourne rockers British India have also announced a series of tour dates this October and November.

Starting things off with a free, all ages show in Scarborough WA on Sunday, 5th October in support of Mental Health Week, the boys will then head to Warrnambool, Melbourne, Brisbane. Sydney and Adelaide.

British India have just finished up recording their much-anticipated fifth studio album and fans heading along to their upcoming shows will be amongst the first to hear some brand new music. The band will also play tracks from 2013’s Controller as well as selections from their illustrious back catalogue.

Citizen Kay Announces Tour And Mini-Album

Canberra raised MC Citizen Kay has announced his new Demokracy mini-album will be released on Friday, November 7th and in celebration he’ll be going out on tour, taking the stage at various club venues across the East Coast this November.

Citizen Kay hasn’t missed a beat since releasing his debut single YES! at the start of 2013. Touring and reaching audiences around Australia as well as hooking up with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Danny Brown and Public Enemy for tours, he is now gearing up to release his mini-album which also features four new tracks.

One such track is the new single Freedom, inspired by a television new report following in incident of gang violence in the US. “It’s probably one of the only songs I’ve written completely from someone else’s shoes but still somehow, at the same time felt like it could have been me,” said Citizen Kay of the song.

As well as his solo tour dates, Citizen Kay has also been announced as the national support on a string of sold-out Ice Cube shows this December.

Skyways Are Highways Join Sea Legs On East Coast Tour

Sunny Melbourne pop-punk outfit Skyways Are Highways dropped their latest EP I Found My Fear a few weeks back and its gleaming tracks have already nabbed them both a management deal and a support slot alongside indie pop surfers Sea Legs on their East Tour tour.

They’ll join the Central Coast outfit when they hit the road this November with stops in Melbourne, Penrith, Sydney, Byron Bay, the Gold Coast and will play their own show at Brisbane’s Rics Bar.

Skyways Are Highways’s latest single Holiday has already charmed the likes of triple j, and gained some generous play. Have a listen to it below.
