Triple J To Broadcast The Hottest 200 This Weekend

Written by Marc Zanotti on January 29, 2013

Triple j have long made a tradition of publishing the list of songs which just missed out on being in the Hottest 100. However, this weekend will mark the first time triple j broadcasts numbers 200 to 101 in a second live countdown.

From 10am (AEST) Saturday, 2nd February, triple j will be airing The Hottest 200 (for lack of a better term, seeing as there’s only 100 songs in the new list). Being that 2012 was such a strong year for music, places 200 to 101 are likely to entertain just as much as the Hottest 100, especially for voters who felt they weren’t represented in Australia Day’s countdown.

The Hottest 200 may also come as more of a surprise for listeners, being that there’s no temptation to spoil the countdown by taking a peek at The Warmest 100. The Hottest 100 will be replayed the following day on from 10am (AEST) Sunday, 3rd February.
