Triple J Unearthed Are Offering You The Chance To Play At Splendour In The Grass

Triple J Unearthed are once again offering up and coming Aussie artists the chance to play at Splendour In The Grass alongside the likes of The Strokes, Flume, The Cure, and The Avalanches.

Flying the winner from anywhere in Australia to Splendour (prize enough itself with tickets sold out), triple j will give you the full taxpayer funded travel experience our politicians are used to and put you up in VIP accommodation. Admittedly it’s only VIP camping and not a trip in Bronwyn’s chopper, but it’s better than slumming it with the rest of the plebs.

This is all just preamble though, as the real prize of course is the chance to take to the stage yourself and kick off the festivities, playing the opening set of the weekend on the amphitheatre main stage.

If you need further convincing of the size of this prize, just look at last year’s winners Tired Lion, who’ve since gone on to major success, signing record deals and lining up to play Glastonbury this year.

As well as the searching nation-wide for someone to follow Airling, Kingswood and Art vs Science as winners of this prestigious competition, Unearthed is also hunting for a local artist from Byron, Ballina, Lismore, or Tweed to represent the local area on the bill too.

And all you need to do to go into the running for this priceless prize is have your best tracks uploaded to triplejunearthed.com by Sunday 12th June. If your stuff is already up there you’re already in the running.

You can get full details on the comp from triple j Unearthed.
