US Festival Organisers Introduce The “Golden Porta Potty”

Last month, Music Feeds reported on Dr Ria Symonds of the University of Nottingham, who devised a way to mathematically select the cleanest toilet at a music festival using ratios and probability. Well, the organisers of Austin City Limits Music Festival have simplified the process.

According to ACL organisers, C3 Presents, who as of June are the sole owners of beloved Aussie staple the Big Day Out, the festival’s Golden Porta Potty is an air-conditioned wonder made of pure 25 carat gold and includes the sort of “privacy and exclusivity that attracts billionaires, internet entrepreneurs and rock star royalty.” Best of all, you’ll be one of only six people using it.

While you’re in there you can also marvel at a golden chandelier that was allegedly “turned down by the palace of Versailles for being too lavish,” a television that live streams festival performances, Wi-Fi, a phone charger, San Pellegrino, and when you’re, uh, done, imported Egyptian toilet paper.

This golden throne is part of a promotion that organisers are running, giving six lucky people 10 single-day passes to the Austin City Limits Festival, plus access to the coveted Golden Porta Potty. Here’s hoping Action Bronson doesn’t suddenly interrupt you as you’re enjoying the lavishness.
