Written by Mike Hohnen on May 7, 2013

Vampire Weekend fans were expecting to wait until Friday, 10th May to sink their fangs into the band’s new material. But the band have given in, putting Modern Vampires Of The City up for streams in full on iTunes for all to check out.

The third album from the indie pop giants sees them demonstrate their bright melodies, highly articulate lyrics and their undeniable ability to ride the indie pop wave higher than any of their peers. The full album is currently pumping for free but it won’t be around for long so if you’re keen to sample Modern Vampires Of The City before you buy it, get in quick.

Some of the tracks have previously seen the light of day. The band have been drip feeding updates from the release n the form of the odd streamed track here and there including the super fresh albiet gloomy and dark Hudson

The record was surrounded by greatness from all angles with Ariel Rechtshaid (Usher, Major Lazer, Charli XCX) handling the production responsibilities. The band described the album as the third chapter in the book of Vampire Weekend, seeing the motifs and imagery invoked with their sophomore album, 2010’s Contra return once again.
