Vydamo East Coast Tour, April 2013

Art vs Science member Jim Finn will do three dates along the east coast of Australia this April under the guise of his new solo moniker Vydamo.

Vydamo will play intimate shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, where’s he expected to showcase material from his currently untitled debut album, which is due out later this year. It’s not just going to be a 1-man show either – Vydamo is said to be performing live with a 5-piece band, with special guests set to be announced shortly as well.

Vydamo made the Sydney Morning Herald‘s list of 2013’s Next Big Things and had huge airplay over summer for his debut single Gonna Make It. Along with praise from triple j’s Richard Kingsmill, who pegs him as “extremely likeable”, Vydamo’s tunes have been described as “equally influenced by the melodies, harmonies and upbeat vibes of the 60s and the rollicking piano-led party anthems of Fatboy Slim and co.”

With just moments left before showtime, Vydamo has unveiled a brand new single for us to get our head around. Hurricane follows from previous single Gonna Make It and delves into a whole new world of cruisey melancholia. You can stream the track below.

the support slows for the tour have now been filled with rising stars Pluto Jonze handling Brissy and Sydney, the great Mammal will be performing at just Sydney and The Kite String Tangle just Brissy and lately We The People warming up the Melbourne crowd.

Tickets for all shows are available from Vydamo’s official website.
