He’s also the official ambassador for Record Store Day today, and yesterday morning he dropped by Studio 10 to show off his DJ skills for Australia.
This wasn’t just any DJ set though. As Tone Deaf points out, Sydney band Polish Club sent Albo a vinyl copy of their record and challenged him to give them a plug on the show.
Albo posted the message and record to Instagram, calling it “a damn fine album.”
True to his word, Albanese wrapped up his set on Studio 10 by playing Polish Club’s single ‘Beat Up’, also taking the opportunity to spruik his love for vinyl.
“It shows that new bands are producing vinyl!” says Albo. “If it’s not on vinyl it doesn’t exist!”

So yesterday a package arrives in my #marrickville office with a note from #innerwest #indie #rock band @bestpolishclub – with a #vinyl copy of #alrightalready recorded in #leichhardt – a damn fine #album it is – could have been delivered without the #sledge on my @rsdaustralia #ambassador duties but that’s ok – to reward this initiative I’ll give it a plug on @studio10au show tomorrow morning
